As an artist, in most cases, I am not a prude. Nudity doesn’t bother me in art. But it depends on the depiction.
There is a difference between porn and art. This seems to be a lost art for some. Plus, we live in a world where a percentage of the people in it are offended if you censure them even one iota.
It can be difficult to explain to people what the difference is. There is also those who like the shock value and want to blatantly show the nitty gritty right down to every hair and every size of any particular appendage that protrudes off the human form.
I think my favorite nudes are in stone and marble sculpture. Not because they are nudes but because I collect stones, rocks and semi-precious stones. I find the artists skill in bringing out the turn of a breast or the depiction of other parts interesting because stone is unbendable, not destructible like human flesh and it intrigues my sense of creativity. That is why I like sculpture, the skill of the artist.
In my art my preference is to sneak a naked form into an artwork with a suggestion over an obvious placement.

In this artwork, I have placed less than a dozen figures. They are subtle, but they are there. I like telling stories, and nature and human nature can be an interesting and beautiful subject if handled correctly.
Overall, I was depicting the continuity of the imagery of flowers and the connection humans have in their simplest form. Love. There is also the challenge I give myself to pull it off without it being grotesque or gauche. Something you cannot quite reach, not quite see, but you know it is there and it has embraced itself with class. The artwork is for sale and is in my store. Buy it here.
