News

Sunflowers symbolize devotion, loyalty, warmth, and resilience. They are also associated with optimism and the pursuit of light, reflecting a positive outlook even in difficult times. Plus, long life... Feelings of adoration, admiration, and platonic love. Loyalty and strong bonds. Seeking out Positivity and strength. Nourishing yourself and others. Brightening your mood. Good luck and lasting happiness. This is what I want to offer through these artworks.
I am painting sunflowers, abstract, traditional, wild, dot-dash-wavy line, using all of my styles. I am doing one per household for the victims of the Old Trails and Autumn Lane fires. That is an estimated 800 artworks. I can paint three to five 11' by 14" sunflower artworks a day. There will be a few enhanced prints, that is where I get one printed mount it and then add some individualized bits to make it a one of a kind.
I should be able to finish the project in one year, while still working on my commissions and my must paints. As I get them scanned I am adding artworks. Then I will begin the process of contacting one victim at a time until I finish the artworks. These will be gifts. If you know a victim, please let them know to contact me and I will add them to the list of names I already have. Once one has been gifted the new owners first name will be on the graphic. Victims will chose by number. Then my husband will meet you somewhere of your choice and you will receive the artwork. A photo will be taken for the gifted gallery.
There will be artworks from myself, as well as from some of my disenfranchised students. You can learn about them on my Seven Sisters Project page here on my website. Those students will receive two canvases or sheets of paper, will learn how to paint sunflowers, they will keep one artwork for themselves and donate the other to The Sunflower Project. They volunteer to be a part of this project. If you are an artist and want to offer a sunflower artwork and adopt a family/artwork, I will be pleased to facilitate that and have the artworks image on my gallery, You would deliver your artwork to a recipient.
You can adopt an artwork by donation, if you want a particular one to go to a particular recipient.
Five dollars or more will help me pay for materials if you would like and if you know someone who lost their home, please let them know that as soon as I have the first 100 done and posted I will open them up to be gifted. Adopted or not, they will be gifted.
