This evocative piece, Seven Sisters, reflects a deeply personal narrative, inspired by seven women I know who were once homeless. I met them through my gift of free art classes, and together they convey a story of similar beginnings, different successes, and a beautiful unity. I celebrate not only through my art but from the powerful stories behind it, honoring the journeys of those often unseen. This piece honors their resilience while respecting their privacy, a value I hold deeply. In my studio, my soul, my heart, I celebrate stories that blend compassion with creativity, offering art that speaks beyond the canvas. This work is a testament to the lives touched through both my art and my creativity, with their permission I tell a small portion of their stories.
Tickets are $21.82 One person will win the artwork. Purchasing a single ticket will give you (1) chance at winning the artwork. *See rules on the main page.
*By law, professional artists can auction off an artwork as long as they charge taxes/or use tax with the ticket price. In this case the $1.82, of the ticket price of $20.00 + $1.82 $21.82 total per ticket, is the retail taxes that are required to be collected and paid. Since this is not a non-profit auction, I will also have to pay earning taxes off each ticket in the amount of 12% which works out to $4.00 per ticket. Of the remaining $16.00, half will go to covering my studio losses in the recent fire in Spokane, WA. The other half will go towards the free art classes I normally do throughout the year. I will be applying a large chunk of that to some free art classes I will be holding for those victims who lost houses in the fire. Details for that will be on the main page of this auction.
